Religion

Wicklow Montessori Primary & Pre-School is a multi-denominational Christian school where no formal religion classes are given other than the preparation for the Roman Catholic sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

First Holy Communion is held as part of Sunday mass in the local parish church.The teacher works with the parish to help organise this sacrament and the children participate in aspects of the mass by doing readings, presenting gifts, etc. This is followed by a small party for the children and their families in the school before going on to enjoy their own family celebrations.

Confirmation is also held in the local parish church with the other local schools.  After the mass tea and cakes are served in the school for the children and their  families.

​

Parents who wish for their children to take these sacraments are requested to provide a baptismal certificate for their child's file when enrolling at the school.
